[RANT} 13.23 is still the best FW for this watch?

I can't wrap my head around this, but seeing people having problems with 14.13, 14.17 and others firmwares below that ( if there were any) seems that Garmin makes more bugs than they fix. I literally bought 955 in January and just updated one firmware and then disabled automatic updates and thank god for that. I know I have LTHR bug ( where it updated only two times in one month while running pretty much 5 days a week), BUT thank god I don't have "Navigating to saved route", translation errors, music errors or any kind of touch problems. Everything seems just work for me, I have battery drain of 0,450 to 0,500%/hr while having a either bike/swim/run actviity every day, have every-second measurement turned on. HR sensor pairs, Cadence sensor pairs, distance/pace measurement seems okay.

I sold my Coros Pace 2 and went to Forerunner 955 to have a way better experience, which I have in a way, but I didn't think that I have to disable automatic updates just to don't get more bugs.

Sad :)

I totally disagree. I think that the lastest firmware 14.17 is the best released FW in for many months.

I have been on FW 14.17 for almost two weeks and still got 41% battery left (unfortunately only 1 hour of running with multi-gps).
GPS-trackings seems to be very good.

And I am sure if you search the forum at bit more you will se that people are more happy with 14.17 than 13.23

What? The forum is full of bug reports for 14.17. If you all you care about is GPS tracking I guess it’s fine. Guess what, my cheap FR 245 did a good job with that as well. Many other core features are BOTCHED.

I run on AUTO GPS settings ( so it's either multiband or that defualt gps). Also, every second data measurement I think makes a big difference. Also yeah, having not much GPS activites make all the difference. I also use HR strap so that takes battery life as well on activities.
I have no GPS issues on 13.23 .
Talking about 14.17 - just check this forum first page. it's either 14.17/14.08/14.XX and so on. :D

It's so hilarious to me, that I have to use a 1/2month old firmware just to have a watch with less bugs than with the newest one. :D

What bugs???
LTH works fine, Bluetooth works fine, Sync workes fine, Swimming works fine, stryd works fine, HRM-pro works fine..

So what is not working?

LTH works fine? Ahahaah did you miss that gigantic thread with people reporting that they don’t get any LTH updates anymore on the watch? There’s nobody with a comfirmed auto update of LTH for at least several weeks. What stuff are you taking and can I have some of it?

Yep, I agree. On 13.23 also workouts rest screen was doing its functionality and it got broken on v14.xx
