Bug: Navigation Hotkey not working

Starting Navigation via Hotkey, it says "GPS is turned off. Please turn on via the activity settings..." Then, the app shuts down. However, the GPS is turned on in the navigation settings, and the Navigation app starts without a problem when started from the activities menu.

It is not a bug. This is how it works - you need to start an activity and then you can use this hotkey to start navigation.

I am sorry, but this does not make much sense to me. How is a hotkey useful if the activity has to be started first via the menu? Also, the Epix Gen 2 does not show this behavior. Here, you press the key, and the navigation starts without the need to start the activity via the menu first.

logicaly why is then only the navigation activity special that deserves a hotkey? why not the other activities? for me it is a sport watch (not an outdoor watch...which might be different) which most people use for tracking activities and then when you get lost you can use that hotkey, if you are being lazy to hold the up key and select navigation.

Dear randybb, I understand your personal opinion about this, and you have the right to that, of course. But may I ask if you work for Garmin and if this is the official opinion and line of thought by the developers? If so, I respectfully have to live with it, even though it is not ideal for me. If not, I humbly would love to see this improved with one of the upcoming updates. Thanks a lot!
