Auto cycling FTP detection was not working. Fw 14.15

I am using my new FR955 since one month ago, my cycling FTP was not detected once.

I did on auto detection on setup, three kinds of options all.

And I weared chest HR sensor and rided 4h over.

What is wrong?

  • Do you have a powermeter, if you wnt cycling FTP you’ll need a powermeter like assioma power pedals or the ones from Garmin

    from the manual

''Before you can get your functional threshold power (FTP) estimate, you must pair a chest heart rate monitor and power meter with your device (Pairing Your Wireless Sensors), and you must get your VO2 max. estimate (Getting Your VO2 Max. Estimate for Cycling).

The device uses your user profile information from the initial setup and your VO2 max. estimate to estimate your FTP. The device will automatically detect your FTP during rides at a steady, high intensity with heart rate and power.''

However, you can always conduct an FTP test on your Garmin device by selecting the ''FTP Guided Test''.

  • I am using the sworks qaurq power meter.

  • This was reported before supposedly fixed in latest firmware, if you search the forum you should find itThumbsup

  • You said you did a 4 hour ride but have you done an _all out_ effort of approximately an hour? It can’t just be a hard ride because it was long, it needs to be a hard ride because you were operating at your lactate threshold.
