955 Solar - Battery drain issues

I bought my 955 solar on Friday (Feb 10). Today I charged it to 100% in the morning, afterwards I only used it whilst working in my desk.

After just 2 hours, the watch was at 95%, which concerns me since no GPS or activity were running.

Is this normal? I would expect the battery to last a lot longer since Garmin advertises 15 to 20 days but at this rate 3 or 4 days are questionable.

I read through many posts in this site and did the following:

*Updated to version 14.15

*Restarted the watch

*Turned off the Strava segments option.

None of it worked since I charged it back to 100% afterwards and battery performance was the same.

  • Usually, the battery consumption is not linear.

The drain could be slower, for example, when in the 70% range.

Besides, it's your first charge. I would wait a week and then evaluate

  • I've had my watch for 8 weeks now and I still experience that the battery drains quickly, barely 4-5 days with 1-2 hours of exercise. this isn't normal. my old 735 lasted a whole week with 5 hours of exercise

  • I had the issues since it was released. After the activity or sync/BT it keeps draining the battery...probably once in 2 or 3 activities until it is turned off. After turning it back on, it was loosing about 5% a day. Just sent it this week to Garmin service for repair or refund if possible.

  • I turned off the device yesterday evening and started it up again, which means that the rapid drain has stopped. I think it is a problem after a training that the accelerated deflation persists. So I think it's a software problem.

  • I agree, but I was asked by the support to send the watch to Garmin. Now I wait.
