Data for this activity could not be loaded

I used the Trail Running feature in the Forerunner 955 series and it paused randomly (without me having Auto-Pause on) and then it was working fine. At the end of my activity when I went to save, it kept going through "Data for this activity could not be loaded" and the "Activity Saved" screen. I could not make it stop so I had to force a restart or stop. I forgot what buttons I pressed.

Is there a way to recover this data?

Thank you.

  • Thanks for your response!

I don't see the activity anymore on the ACTIVITY folder. Although it said "Activity Saved", it seems to not be saved since I forced shut down the watch. Is there a way any activity could be reported elsewhere? Thank you!

  • Only way is in your 'head" and load it manually...not the best , but in the end its only an activity..

I messed up the other day and pressed discard and not save, irritated me like crazy at the time but in reality after a day its irrelevant mostly...unless it was a race I guess. After all when I started running 45 odd years ago I used a piece of string and map-book to measure roughly how far i ran :-)

  • True true! Thanks everyone for your feedback! I was using it for some training but was able to capture some data using a different app! True, it was only a run so I won't let this get to me. Just hope it doesn't with more runs. I wonder if it's because I used the "Trail Running" option but this hadn't happened before.

    Once again, thanks everyone!

  • I had the exact same issue happen with a bicycle ride today. I pressed Save, and it went through the "Activity Saved" and "Data for this activity could not be loaded". I eventually managed to leave this loop by going through the assistance screen (pressing start for a while). I can see the activity on the watch but trying to access it yields "Data for this activity could not be loaded" again.

I paused the activity for a little while and forgot to resume it again until 2km later, but apart from that it was a typical activity.
