Screen alway light on while running ?

Hi all!

Before FR955, i have been use amazfit, coros. While i'm in activity, watch screen alway off, and can easily light on with gesture. But with FR955, the screen alway on, even if i turn it off by light button, it's continue turn on after few second ?

If i turn off gesture during activity, the screen light is off but i don't want to push light button every time i want to see the screen while running.

Is this normal with this watch ? is there anyone have the same concern like me ?

It’s a known problem since the start, never been fixed. Frankly the watch is a mess.

It's a known problem. They haven't fixed it. It eats battery a lot.

I turned off gesture completely and using a headlamp to shine on my watch when I'm running in the dark...LOL

Thanks for nothing, Garmin! By the way the gesture light worked without problem on my FR245. Should have never "upgraded".

A known issue? I don't have a such problem - the gesture works great.

Are you using the light during running activity? For me the gesture works ok when outside of activities, but during running it will stay on all the time.

It would be yeah, drains battery for no reason. Haven't noticed it myself yet though, will try to keep an eye on it during my next runs

Running in the dark I set light always on.

During the rest of the day workouts it's on gesture for 8 seconds and it works perfectly

Yup, I reported this on beta forum in early autumn last year, when it was still relatively warm outside for jogging, but the sun was setting early. I noticed that with the gesture after sunset option enabled, the backlight almost always on during training. At the same time, during general use, the gesture worked normally. In the end I just turned off the gesture and began to hope that it would be fixed by spring when I start running outside again. Since I see your post it's kinda bummer that this is still hasn't been fixed.

It works great for me. During running gesture puts light on when it is dark. And off after 5 secs.
