Backlight constantly on during running activity (gesture mode doesn't work properly) 14.13

Title says it all. It's been on older firmware versions too. Is there a fix coming?

    haven't seen this problem in my few early morning runs with 14.13 over the past week. it works as it has in the other versions.

    not sure what to suggest. do you try the hard reset (Hold power light for 20 seconds and then restart/power up the watch)?

    I've had this a couple of times before and after 14.13. If I press the light button it goes off but comes back on straight away.

    If anyone has a theory for when this happens, we can hopefully find a way to reproduce it, so Garmin have a better chance of fixing it.

    YES!  I am on 14.15 and the backlight while running stays on almost constantly and is draining the battery.  I have it set to gesture - but if I move my wrist even the slightest outside of a normal swing, it's coming on now.  It used to require me to turn my wrist up like I'm looking at it.

    Tested again, I've enabled wrist gesture with 8s timeout. It works, sometimes I have to rotate 2 times the wrist because it doesn't wake up. But generally it's ok. When running after sunset I set "no timeout" so I have light forever on
