No vibration on incoming calls FW 14.13

Hi, this bug showed up in beta FW 14.08 and was supposed to be fixed in beta 14.12. One day later the official FW 14.13 was released. Now, the bug is still there, when Im receiving a phone call I dont' get the vibration for it in my watch. I can't tell if it was fixed in beta 14.12 because I update immediately after to the 14.13 official release. But now the bug it's there..so disappointing...

  • No vibe with mine in 14.12 but 14.13 did resolve. If you haven't already done so you might try the press and hold upper left button 10-15 secs until the watch shuts itself off and restarts. That's like a hard reset but doesn't wipe all or do a re-install.

  • I always make this "long press button to reset" watch when I update fw. Anyway, it seems there's a workaround for enabling the vibration and it's to set the privacy mode to off...not my favourite solution, but that makes the job and the vibration for the calls is back. I'm staying with this trick until they fix the bug in a proper way.

  • It seems to have its moments so to say. I also read about this workaround but turned gesture back , not that I get many calls but funnily enough i got a vibration whilst on privacy = gesture  after that so not sure if toggling the setting helped or if it was just a once off...

  • I did many tests. Conclusion is to get the vibration you need to see who's calling and you need to have on display the options for answering, rejecting or replying with SMS. When you have privacy=gestures it doesn't vibrates unless you don't make the movement and the different options appear on screen. Until that, it simply doesn't vibrate. You probably have looked at your watch during an incoming call so you have activated involuntary the trick.

  • May well be...that lucky moment .

  • Ah Maybe you have your watch linked to a different phone ecosystem, and that may also be a factor. I have a fruit phone, and far as I know there's no option to do things like reply with SMS from my Garmin. Might be I'm missing something, though I heard or read somewhere that Apple has decreed only their watch devices can have any active response other than clearing a notification.

Again, very possible I just don't know about the settings you note.

You're correct. Only Apple's own Apple Watches are allowed to do that.

  • After 2 days of checks, this is the outcome:

    1) privacy mode ON: NO VIBRATION AT ALL

    2) privacy mode OFF: VIBRATION OK

    3) Privacy mode with gestures: NO VIBRATION BUT, MOVING ARM, VIBRATION IMMEDIATELY STARTS (I would say that's useless since when you move your arm it means you already realize you're receiving a call and that's not the purpose for me of using the vibration)

  • Yeah it seems to have something to do with making the call go into "privacy off" state. I have my privacy mode set to "Press Start" and I didn't get a vibration on the watch until I pressed the start button. I upgraded from 13.22 yesterday and this was working fine in 13.22.

  • correct, that's the third option for the privacy mode I didn't check, but you did
