I always have phone notifications disabled on my watch. Since I have had the watch (bought at launch), the phone notifications get re-enabled after every single firmware update. I go into GC and it shows notifications are disabled but I have to toggle it on/off to get notifications to stop coming through. I've had just about every forerunner Garmin has ever produced and this has never been an issue since they starting doing phone notifications. It seems like the default firmware Garmin is using has notifications enabled and is over writing the users settings.
