955 battery drain - 13.23

I just bought FR955 a few days ago, changing from coros pace2.

After firmware update (from 9.x to 13.23), my watch battery drop 15% per day !!! it's *** suck for the brandnew garmin watch. Is there any 1 have a solution for that ?

I've been read so many thread about FR955 battery drain in this forum and in all of this thread, there is not even 1 official reply or annoucement from garmin team, are you there ? do you have a plan to fix it ? or i have to change back to another brand for better support ?

The usual advice is to force power off and power on the watch after any software upgrade.

Sync the watch before doing this. You will lose data if you don't.

Press and hold the top left "Light" button for 20 seconds until the display goes blank. Wait a few seconds then press the Light button again. The Garmin triangle should show on the display after a couple of seconds, and the watch will boot up.

Thanks for your advice, i have already do it dozen times but battery still drain so hard. I though its not the root cause and we need more actions from garmin team.

I can confirm that in my case the problem was solved putting off Strava live segments in Garmin Connect app.

Where exactly do I find that Strava Live Segments setting in the Connect App. I can disconnect Strava totally, but cannot find a specific setting for the live segments

Under Settings-Connected Apps-Strava you can find the switch to suspend Strava live segments

It is clear why I do not have that option. It tells me you have to have a paid subscription to Strava, which I don't :-) Thx for your quick response though!

Ok the fast discharging problem in my case was fixed with that action. Now on FW 13.23 I have 0.360%/h which is back to normality. The problem seems related to the abnormal amount of data between watch and phone via BT.

May be some other apps are forcing a continuos synching.... Of course it should not ... it is obviously is a buggy fw version.

You may try stopping BT connection for a while to see if it works....
