13.23 firmware

Just in case people are wondering, nothing but the main software (13.22 -> 13.23) has changed... GPS, OHR, firstbeat software, all the same version as 13.22.

So with a fix for an app I've never even heard of, one of the least impressive firmware updates ever I'd say, heh...

*Edit*

Might be a coincidence but since installing the firmware (fully charged) my watch still says 100% battery... This is almost 19 hours now. I know the first few hours are iffy, but don't think I ever saw this (and no, I don't think the firmware improves the battery that much ;) )

Connected it to the charger and rebooted it but for now still at 100%, will see how it goes...

  • I have a 955... Installed the 13.23 update... Battery behavior was fine. Last night I lost close to 50% overnight. Today I charged to 100% at work. That was around noon. Went for a 40 min run with music at 2:30. Now at 4:48 I'm at 85%

Bottom line... I wasn't having battery issues... Now I am. Such a bummer for an expensive piece of kit.

  • Did you do "holding in the light button until the watch powers down , them wait 20s and then restart" routine after the FW update, that is suggested by many. This may help. My watch hasn't had the behaviour you mention since 13.23

  • I think since this firmware update I've had an issue with the lap counting on pool swimming.

I think that the function was fine til this update but can't be 100% sure as I wasn't swimming much. Previous watch occasionally added a lap but this watch has gone crazy with the lap counting the last two weeks. The other day, after it mis-recorded the few few laps of the session, I set it to alert every lap and some laps it went off three times in about 10m.
    Today's swim
50m, lap went off twice but I stopped and it just saved the 50m.
50m, went off two or three times, counted 100m at saving.
300m - went off an extra once or twice and counted 350.
100, then 500 (2 intervals) I just manually counted laps and ended up with 1550!

Super annoying as the metrics are all but useless. I can edit the number of laps in garmin but have to delete everything out of strava and just do a manual entry there. This is the third swim in a row now annoyed by this issue. Will report to Garmin.

  • Kickboxing app?
