There is kind of auto zoom which is not nice, and then this that it doesn't remember zoom level, but I agree it would be nice if the zoom level would be remembered per activity type.

Saving of zoom level, per activity type, would be much appreciated. It's a pain having to zoom in every time I start following a course. I'm pretty sure it remembered on my 935 (albeit, as a breadcrumb trail).

Does not solve problem. Quick test you might think so as it remembers it a while, but not anything permanently.

You have to put autozoom off and set the zoom you want every time you start the activity. Unfortunately that's how it works 

Yes, it is. And it does not solve the problem that it would work like one would expect and the OP wanted. That's the reason I answered: "No".

There is no way to change default zoom. You can have auto zoom that is bad, or kind of "no zoom, zoom it yourself, every time".

It's such a bad user experience that map view always starts with kind of a satellite view and has to be adjusted every time. It definitely was different with my Fenix 6.

I'm sorry, seems that diabling auto zoom fixed at least my issue. The default zoom level is what I expect now.
