Watch loses workouts created via Garmin Connect web/mobile

Currently on FW version 13.22. Most of the activities I've been doing on the watch involve workouts that I've created on Garmin Connect web/mobile and sent to my watch. I've noticed that some of the workouts that I've sent to my watch previously and run previously are no longer there the next time I try to do that workout. As a result, I've had to resend the same workout to my watch multiple times.

I have 8 running, 2 strength training, and 1 cycling workout, if that is relevant information.

  • I've only got 4-5 running workouts. Never gone missing.

Could it be related to the disk space ?

Try keeping a fix and small number of workouts in the watch.

  • How much disk space do we get for workouts? If it's part of the entire 32 GB, that shouldn't be a problem. I still have many GB remaining (the only thing I've downloaded is the NA topo map, I also have no music stored on my watch).

I have seen all of my workouts on the watch at the same time, so it's not like the watch doesn't have enough space to store them all. I wouldn't think a workout file should take up that much space (should be KB at most).

I have edited some of my workouts quite frequently so maybe it's related to sync issues when sending workouts to the watch? Although I haven't had sync issues on the watch for any other data that's synced with Garmin Connect mobile.

  • I think I've identified at least one bug related to workouts being lost/overwritten. The bug occurs if you have two workouts with the same name but with different activities. In my case, I had an indoor biking workout with the same name as a running workout. If the biking workout was on the watch already and I send the running workout, the biking workout gets replaced by the running workout, and vice versa. If I try to send both workouts at the same time, then one of them overwrites the other at random.

  • LOL good finding.

I wonder if Garmin will read this.
