alpine ski profile is counting descent but also ascent in chairlift in total mileage

Good morning everyone; last weekend I went skiing for the first time with my Garmin 955 and of course I used the specific preset profile for alpine skiing. Well, to my great surprise, I realized that it also counted the km done in the chairlift or cable car, bringing the final mileage of the day to more than 90 km in total, which was obviously wrong. A friend of mine using the connect IQ downloaded app on his Garmin 935 had about half my miles. How is it possible to prevent the watch from also counting the km uphill? it makes no sense to add up both the descents and the ascents on the chairlift. Is it possible that the "alpine skiing" profile is buggy? Thanks for your answers.

I have the same issue. Was working perfectly with the Forerunner 745 I had before. Quite a step back.

Same issue here. I think this is clearly a bug and someone at Garmin should look into it. All other models that I know don’t have this error and even the Forerunner online manual advises that only downhill distance is recorded.

Hope someone at Garmin notices. This is disappointing.

I went to ski in January and i had 24.10 if i recall and everything worked fine. I started the activity when i was ready to go downhill the first time and did not touch it for 4 hours. Only downhill , speed and so on was recorded. Stopped while using chairlift or skilift. I am going to double check my data but i think out of 4 hours on the slopes, it told me i skied for 1 hour and 15 MN. Maybe the bug was introduced in 25.

No, this is an identical bug, but in different sport profile. You need report it separately, otherwise it would not be fixed for alpine profile.

It is unbelievable, that Garmin SW team not just fixes bugs insufficiently, but also introduces bugs for previous working stuff .
