It's just time in target zone divided by total time.
What is the sampling size? Every meter? So if the interval is 800 meters, then each one is checked for being on target?

Yes, only the specific training counts (not the 15' warm-up, and 15' cool-down).
This is why you create a range, no? Say, if your target is 5:08, you can set a range betwenn 5:00 and 5:15
Just checked my workout. Corrected my post above.
Intensity target pace is already a range of 5:05 to 5:15 min/km.
And I am certain I run 100% of the time within this range.
