I read somewhere, that a reset of the watch after an update would be a good idea. Should I do a restart or the 10s reset for that. What is this for?
Thanks in advance!

Garmin-Kevin I assume you are referring to a hard reset, not just powering the watch off and on after installing a new FW version (or to clear any problems), right?
Correct Andy275. The soft reset by choosing "Power Off" in the Control Menu will be fine. If you hold the power button past the Control Menu and the Assistance Alert screen, that will cause a hard reset.
Excuse me Garmin-Kevin, but my experience is different. After holding LIGHT (aka power button) for more than 15s, my HRV status history has never disappeared on my 955 (I always sync my watch before performing beforehand). In the 955 user manual, holding LIGHT for 15s is referred as Restarting of the watch. There is no such term as "hard reset" in the whole manual.
I confirm, when we talk about "soft reset", it does not reset the HRV status.
+1 on this... just did 'hold the power button past the Control Menu and the Assistance Alert screen' to see if it sorted my broken alert settings / screens after updating the firmware, and it didn't lose the hrv data - the watch still shows a graph for the last 7 days of hrv... but didn't fix the alert issue :-(
Thank you to everyone for your feedback. We have updated the FAQ with more accurate information pertaining to the type of reset.
