Move IQ insights incorrectly recording “Elliptical Activity” every day.

Instead of walking, my Forerunner 955 is reporting “Elliptical” activities in the Move IQ auto-detected activities just about every day. At first I chalked this up to carrying an item (like an umbrella or a package), but at this point I’m convinced it’s happening even when walking completely “normally” (and shouldn’t happen in either of those instances anyway). Seems like the elliptical activity sensitivity is jacked way up in the latest update.

That happened to me, too, so I turned off Move IQ. Then, surprisingly, the estimated battery life changed from 14 days to 16 days.

But to be honest, Garmin can't even fix regular software bugs, so who expects them to fix motion pattern recognition errors

Happened to me as well. I turned it off...............just another thing that doesn't work and probably won't get fixed :-)

I love the irony though.....move IQ :-) The name is just fantastic when it does one thing and it does it wrong....LOL

I’ve gone ahead and turned off Move IQ now too. I kind of appreciated the events that would pop up (mostly walking) but since those don’t count as activities or toward badges anyway, didn’t seem to really revise any value.

Disappointing to see they didn't fix this on the 955 as I reported it to Garmin support for my 945 around a year ago. The support case didn't go anywhere so I just turned it off like everyone else.
