HRV Drastically Lower since 13.15 and Continues with Latest Updates

My HRV has been drastically low for weeks with no physical cause. Ever since 13.15 the overnight avg has dropped from 80-100ms (usually in the 90s) to high 50 - low 60 range. Even no training and sleep scores in the high 90 range results in these low values. Something is definitely off.

  • I had the same issue ob my FR255.

Magically it disappeared after caring about my stress and training.

It seems that i get into this very quickly when running too hard. for some reason the Acute Load is okay but according to the HRV i would say its a sign of bad recovery.

I wasnt feeling bad but i recognized that my sleep became worse and depending on my current feeling it became worse, if i drink a beer before going to bed it gets worse too and the biggest thing is the temperature at night!

usually my hrv is between 60 and 70. when being "active" its usually around 60-65.

On a stressful episode i even reached consistent weeks of 40ms!

It is not only that the nightly avg gets worse, it does it slowly. also getting recovered again takes time. in a very stressful episode for me it took 1 week because so much "stress" "accumulated"

Also if you worry about your HRV, it will affect your HRV too! :)

  • also you have to be aware that you posted the weekly average graph.

if you have monday: 70ms and tue-sun 60ms the day you re-record a new monday will push down the next weekly average. to omit that i often enable the graph for the nighly average over the whole week to see a real trend

  • in my case using SW 14.17 and first before the hard reset synchronizing my device in GC I did not lose any data even the HRV history was passed to the device. Right now the f955 is very solid and better optimized I think it needed that hard reset ;)

  • This whole HRV feature has been so frikkin useless it‘s not even funny anymore. Wish I had just gotten a bug free Fenix 6 without all that HRV crap. They could use a random number generator to create the values and it would be the same.

  • My HRV pretty much tracked my wellness through the last six months. It has recovered back into the normal range since the end of December and has stayed there.

I've done some really heavy activity in the last two weeks (over 110km of running, much more than my usual load), with days where I've drained my Training Readiness down to 1. HRV has been rock solid throughout.

  • I honestly forgot about this post. I have a newer post regarding the same issue (written with a bit more frustration) after having dealt with incorrect HRV readings for several months. A hard reset seemed to be the solution. Although my HRV data wasn't erased from the device, it did immediately trend back up to numbers I would expect - more in line with what was being recorded during the early weeks of using the watch.
