Garmin 955 random backlight

Hello. Whenever I: search or connect for an HRM external sensor/ save a running session (when the stats screen shows up) / Performance Condition does decide to show up, the screen lights up, regardless of the current time. I tried searching this forum 9 ways to Sunday, is anyone having this weird behaviour?

    Have the same exact issue on my FR255 Music 4 months on (FW 14.20). A member of the Garmin Support Team confirmed the same issue on his/her FR955, but didn't sound to concerned or ready to escalate... :-(

    This bug has been around for a while. The watch has backlight settings, but they never seem to be respected.

    It's particularly annoying when you are doing outdoor activities as you do not notice it. It comes on indefinitely, resulting in unnecessary battery drain.

    It comes every morning during the morning report. Once again, unnecessary battery drain until you go through the morning report.

    I also notice it coming when using certain widgets such as pulse ox, health snapshot, etc.
