Battery drain

My FR 955 used to drain 2-3% per day, without counting running. I do not use it for activity tracking but I keep it on all the time instead of frequent power on/off.

Recently, it drains 9-10% per day. I turn off all things, SpO2, Wifi, activity tracking, etc but still no difference.

Any idea?

  • Same issue here after installing  latest firmware 13.21. It seems that the battery drain happened during the night. No issues at all with previous 12.27.
I have just disabled the strava segments sync as it seems it was one of the solution of the same issue in the past, but since it occurres during the night i guess it could be related to the new sleep mode function.

  • These messages pops op in the forum after EVERY SINGLE FW UPDATE - and the solution is the SAME.

Turn off the watch for 60-90 seconds and then turn it on again and whoosh problem is usually gone Slight smile

  • Do you mean a soft reset or just turn off, wait few seconds and turn on?

  • Just a plain simple turn off the watch. No soft reset, no hard reset.. Just turn it off. Hold the Light button and select turn off, wait one minute or so and turn it on again.

  • Ok. Let’s try. Thanks for the suggestion. Since the battery drain occurred overnight almost 12 hours after the firmware update, i guessed it was a bug.

  • I switched off and turned on the watch, removed the watch from garmin connect, delete and reinstalled garmin connect and the issue was solved and the synchronization issue (see my other post) disappeared as well, which in my opinion was causing the battery draining issue.

  • I just powered off, waited a while and powered on. The issue was resolved.

It is strange that I did recharge a couple of times, which I thought were equivalent to power off/on, but the issue was not resolved until I did manual power off/on.
