I am also running 13.22 (updated on 12/5/22) , swam today and had the issue where my watch stopped counting laps. This was the first time since the update that this issue occured. I swam the 1400 meters before it stopped. I used the "drill" feature to count the laps which didn't record for my training tracking.

I can't see the file. However, the drill feature only records time -- you enter the distance after you push the lap/back button. That said, I have noticed that sometimes (usually well into a workout) the interval fails to start when the lap button is pushed (whether in drill mode or not). This even occurs when using the countdown start timer, and in drill mode and regular mode. I have been able to resolve it by hitting the stop button, and then <resume> rather than save. Nonetheless, it is a bug
Hey Andy - My profile is locked and I had intended the link to be used by the Garmin Support folks.
What I have noticed is when you dig into the intervals the watch thinks the you are at "Rest" instead of collecting the length distance.

No, I do not use auto-rest. I start my swim and hit the lap button at the start and end of each interval. The watch normally knows it is moving and will capture swimming verses resting. I have done the same thing on my Forerunner 920XT, Forerunner 935 and now this 955. This issue was occuring on version 12.27 and was supposed to be fixed in 13.22.
Here is the response from Garmin Support on Nov18th regarding 13.22....

RE Problems with pool count with the new Forerunner 955
All,
We have released a fix in the latest (non-beta) software release that should resolve the report for most users experiencing these symptoms. The software release should continue rolling out to all users in the coming days. If you are still experiencing symptoms like the original report here, please start a new thread in the main forum.
I just bought my Forerunner 1 month ago, and starting with my third pool training, having the same problem above. Although i keep most of the features in “off” mode, especially “auto-rest” the interval distance displays only a dash “—“ counting the time without counting the distance. I have to log all the training in drill mode which effects all my metrics in return. Any solutions before I throw out my newly bought Forerunner 955 away from the window? Guidance much appreciated. It is Software version 14.20
I'm currently on 15.15B and I have the same problem. Forerunner 955 starts recording fine. At some point, it just goes into rest mode and doesn't record any new laps. Tried to start a new activity, same problem after a few minutes. Stopping and starting the activity again doesn't work as well. This is really annoying... See image below. Activity was around 42 mins long. After 13:15 min Pace, Swolf and strokes stops, but heart rate goes on just fine (from my HRM Pro +strap)
