Calibration Error on Garmin 955 with Wahoo Kikr

When I calibrate my Kikr with my Edge 820 it instructs me to do the spin down test, which works.  However, when try to do the same calibration test on the 955 I receive an error.  In addition when I look at the list of connected Power devices on my Edge it only lists the Wahoo Kikr once.  On the Garmin I have 2 entries for the Kirk - a "Trainer" and "Power".  Is that normal?

  • What ve rsion of Wahoo Kickr are we talking about??

I am pretty sure that the 955 cannot do a spin-down test, and I am a bit surprised that you can get that message on an Edge 820

  • I have a refurb'd 2018 Kirk.  For the 820 it has me pedal up to 30mph, then let it spin down.  However, with the 955 there are 2 entries for my Kirk - power and trainer.  I assumed the "trainer" is to control the trainer from the watch with workouts and courses and the "power" is to receiver power readings.  However, when I try to calibrate the power one it fails on the 955.  Anyone else have this problem?

  • I have tested it myself on my 955 I cannot do it either.

I guess it is not supposed to be done on the 955.

I would actually been quite surprised if it worked.

Having said that, why dont you use the provided app on your phone/ipad from wahoo for that? Or do it from e.g. within Zwift?
