Beta 13.15. Power doubt

With the new native power feature from the wrist I have questions on how to configure stryd and garmin.
I would like to be able to see the Garmin power from the wrist but also the stryd power from the IQ screen.
In that case, which one would be saved at the end of the race? Which one would be saved on the stryd page?

It's a shame that stryd can't be used natively like on coros, because workouts can be designed more easily and for free from Garmin. Plus being able to see other data on the same screen like heart rate, average pace, time and distance.

  • Wouldn’t it be the same as it was before with the HRM Pro giving the power values? It gives the option to totally disable power now, so I’m assuming doing that will be as it was say on the 945 where any power values are now populated from the Stryd QIC data field

  • So I tested with power disabled, and it did collect the data from the Stryd via the QIC data field, however, it's totally missing from both Garmin and Strava. The run has sync'd over to Stryd though.

Tomorrow, I'll try with it enabled from Accessory only, rather than Smart Mode or Wrist Only.

EDIT: Actually, I'm now not seeing any of the Stryd data in my previous runs in Garmin Connect (both app on my phone and web).

  • It's showing again now! When it wasn't, connect wasn't showing the Stryd Zones Data Field on the summary. No idea if this is something happening on the garmin backend software that's messing up at the minute.

  • I just did a little test running with the power on automatic and using the stryd sensor.

The data on the watch displays very nicely with illustrative graphs of what power zone we are in, current power, average, etc (this measured by garmin).
On the other hand, through IQ you see the stryd power.

    1. When I save the race, in strava, it saves the power of garmin.
    2. In the run summary, it saves the data from both, power and power zones from garmin and the run metrics data, power and so on from stryd.
    3. In the stryd app it saves the stryd power.

  • Goodmorning, I'm using stryd, paired like a footpod and a powerpod, and appbuilder5 datafield to visualize and record 40"AVG Power and lap Power, and until 12.27 It works perfectly. Is there someone who could test on 13.15 , to have the stryd power without using the stryd CIQ datafield? Is there a way to return to 12.27 if I do an upgrade test?

  • This is what I got from my run today after having power set to Disabled and using the Stryd data field

Native Garmin power is missing, but all the Stryd stats are still there

Power didn't make it to Strava though. I'm going to try it tomorrow with the setting on Accessory (not sure if that will then take power from my HRM-Pro rather than using wrist based, or simply use what Strava is providing....we shall see)

  • Thank you very much, I wait for more info . Probably you will see the power from HRM-PRO (or a RD pod).If there is someone who could remove the stryd CIQ datafield and test appbuilder5 with a simple formula "power" and see if the stryd power is visualised during activity, it would be great...the problem is lose this possibility with the upgrade, and no have the possibility to return to 12.27...

  • I just finished a run. I had power source on "automatic" and used the Stryd CIQ.

The power that Garmin recorded was that from the wrist. However, Stryd's power was uploaded to both the Stryd Powercenter and Runalyze

  • Me too. It is good for me. Now I wish native stryd.
