Cannot connect HRM-PRO to 955 via Bluetooth - will not allow me to change connection type.

I have tried endlessly to connect my HRM-PRO chest strap to my 955 via Bluetooth but it simply is not an option. I want to use Bluetooth so that Garmin power is not used. I use a Stryd pod.

I have no problem connecting the HRM-PRO via ANT+, either as a HRM sensor or using the auto discover option from the 955. There is no option to change the HRM-PRO connection from ANT+ to Bluetooth. If I add the HRM-PRO via ANT+ and disable the sensor, trying to then pair via Bluetooth fails. I have no idea what is going on, can anyone confirm they have connected the HRM-PRO via Bluetooth to a 955?

Please help, this is driving me crazy :-)

I saw this on You-Tube and tried it to get mine to connect with BLE and it worked fine.

Sadly this does not work for me. I do not have the option to change the connection type to BLE, it connects via ANT+ and I have an option to enable/disable the connection, use HRM Pace & Distance (Off, Indoor, Always), About (where it shows connected as ANT+ as well as details about HRM-PRO) and finally Remove.

I am on FW 12.27

I have the HRM- Pro+ but as far as I know the firmware its is the same.

So if you go on the watch

Sensors and Accessories

Then select the HRM

Go to Connection Type (it likely shows Ant+) and press the start button

Then it gives me ANT+ , BLE as options

I can then choose BLE

Thats how I managed to select BLE

It is really strange. I am on FW 12.27 as well. When I go to via Menu, Sensors & Accessories then select the HRM I have Connected (Off or Connected), HRM Pace & Distance, About, Name & Remove.

So you don't have Connection Type then I gather. I see it whether the HRM is connected or not actually

Maybe do a long power down and restart of the watch (Hold the power button in until it powers down), then start it up again. Sometimes it fixes small niggles.

I can connect my Polar H10 chest strap via BLE or ANT+ no problem, and the HRM-PRO connects to my iPhone (Garmin Connect) via Bluetooth. It is all very strange. I think I will use my Polar H10 chest strap for now and forget about the HRM-PRO.

Pleasure, quite intriguing how this happens! Probably it will suddenly re-appear for no apparent reason!
