Breathing widget disabled since update 12.27. :-(

I no longer have a working breathing widget since yesterday's update.
When I navigate to it on the watch and then I want to launch it, every time I get the message,
That I should activate the heart rate on the wrist. But is activated. In the Garmin Connect App(Android).
Is the respiration but displayed. :-(

In addition, several other
Settings have been reset, which I had to activate again, but is another topic.

So I have to say I miss my Forerunner 945.The software of the 955 is a disaster.

  • Breathwork works flawlessly for me. Have you tried to reboot the watch by holding LIGHT for 15s? Synchronize the watch before doing that, otherwise you may lose some data.

I have restarted, but without success.
Now I started the options for the widget itself (long press of the middle button) and had to set for which category this widget should work. I selected "Running", don't know why that has to be, but never mind. Now it works again.
This is really strange what garmin does with the updates. I do not find good, at this price and as a non-software developer of this clock.

    Thanks for help!

  • This is strange. I cannot see any settings for selecting the category within the Breathwork options (long press of the middle button). Are we speaking about the same thing?

Can you describe all exact steps you perform, so you get the  "should activate the heart rate on the wrist" message?

    Yes, I can describe it.

After the update, the widget was declared disabled. In addition, there was a paused activity in the background that I wanted to continue after work.
I then navigated to the breathing widget and held the middle button longer. The activity list appeared in the first place and I was supposed to select an activity. I then activated the first activity (running) and after that the widget worked again and my paused activity was finished (just FYI).
Since the breathing widget is working again, there is no longer this option, which I could select before when the widget was deactivated...
Very confusing and not described in the manual.

  • So as I understand it, you tried to use the breathing widget while you had some other activity paused...
You cannot run two activities simultaenously. What probably happened is, that a multisport activity activated and you had to choose the other sport. This behavior is hardly connected with the update. Everything should be fine.

Many thanks for the answer! I wasn't aware that it was because of that.
