Forerunner 955 solar rebooted twice during an easy 5 mile run

Pretty much as the title says, two miles into the run the screen went black and the blue triangle outline appeared. The watch then started up where it left off but i had to resume the activity. Happened a second time just before five miles, again once the watch had restarted I had to resume the activity.

The usual advice for you.

Any apps from CIQ ? Remain stock.

Last resort, do a factory reset. Don't install anything from CIQ.

Only had the watch 5 days, pretty much a vanilla set up

I believe you gotten a lemon set.

Is your firmware the latest one ?

I've never had the watch reboot during a run, and I've done four Half Marathons* and several walks/hikes over two hours with it. I've had it since a few days after it was released as a new model. I had more spontaneous reboots in my first year of owning a vivoactive3.

* I'm not fast. Just over two hours.

i only had reboots on the earlier firmware (FW9.XX) where if i tried to go to the map data page, the watch would spontaneously reboot. that was fixed for me in FW11.12 and i have not had any reboots during activities or otherwise.

On the latest firmware so that shouldn't be an issue.

Have powered the watch off and on manually but still happened again on my latest run, also noticed some display glitching with the layout border line having another thick pixelated line above it which then disappears after a minute or so, pic below.

Trying to get through to Garmin support as it does look like they've sent a dodgy watch.

The line across is a known software bug.

Rebooting is probably a hardware issue. Not heard of in this forum.

The dashed line is a known cosmetic bug in 12.2X. It doesn't affect the watch's functionality and can be worked around by flicking to a different data screen and then back.

Get your watch swapped with a new one. This should not be the case with the latest firmware.
