With WIFI off no sleep data synced

12.23

My new watch did not sync to the android connect app any sleep data until I enabled Wifi and pushed wifi sync on my watch. On the other hand it sinced activities during day with enabled bt connection (during night bt connection is off- wish i could do that automatically ...).

But now it synced only last nights data, which is useless. Also other data like training readiness etc was previously not present in the app, although in the watch it seemed to be recorded and viewed properly every day. Now all the data depends on a single night sleep data, which is wrong in all means.

Connecting to windows (garmin express) and syncing there did not do anything, as well as removing and newly adding the device or restarting it. I also was not able to upload .fit datafile manually, since GE states that it can not recognize it due to an error. It could not recognize any of files in the activity folder.

I do not want to have wifi on the whole time in order to sync essential data.

Here a screenshot of my watch showing recorded data for 5 days, yet in the app it synced last night only.

  • during night bt connection is off- wish i could do that automatically ...).

Why not just leave BT ON 24/7 ?

Any significant difference in battery usage with BT OFF and ON ?

  • On fenix there is difference plus I do not like to have any EM waves when I do not need them in my vicinity.

On the other hand it should work either way.

Plus my problem was wifi off, no transfer of data except of activities.

  • More EM waves reach you from a microwave oven being used in the next building than you are going to experience from a Bluetooth LE device like this watch.

  • The BT waves are safe.

There are many other waves that you are not aware.

How about BT ON when you are syncing? Then BT OFF after syncing..

  • Not worried about wawes being safe or not. Please read once again, because you missed the point entirely. It should work but i does not.

  • Never had a micowave oven. Not the problem I am refering to.

  • If you want to avoid EM waves, cool yourself to absolute zero in a vacuum and surround yourself with several metres thickness of lead at the same temperature.

Electromagnetic waves span from ultra long wave radio signals, through microwaves, through Infra red (heat), visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays and Gamma rays. Only EM waves of wavelengths shorter than visible light are capable of ionization. Longer wavelengths can only impart heat.

Bluetooth devices operate with microwatts of power. You, yourself, radiate more power in the infra red (about 30THz).

Bananas and brazil nuts are more dangerous.

  • Gosh, speaking of data not transfering when wifi is off, while getting lectures about BT not harmful which is not a point of concern at all.
People started reading thousands years ago, now there is clear a decline in this matter, or am I just not getting it?

  • Now suddenly data started to transfer also through BT with wifi off.

This is not a solution, but a resume which still needs developers to respond as to why is this not always working (I miss 4 initial days of data, which are also as .fit dump not uploadable, everything with default setting and no additional mangling).

    • So either this connect app is working or it is not working or it is partially working, developers should take this much more serious than just waiting for it to autosolve ...
