Swim won't upload from my 955

I did a swim this morning that is not uploading automatically from my 955 via Garmin Connect.  When I attempted to do a manual upload of the .fit file via my computer, I get the following error message:

We don't support the file type you tried to import.

It's a .fit file which is compatible, so I'm not quite sure why this is an issue?  Could the file itself be corrupted?  I see summarized data of my workout this morning so it does look like it's not corrupt.  Is there anything I can do to get this uploaded?  I just attached the activity to this post in case anyone has some magic that can help me out.  Thanks!!!

  • Hi, Is the activity still visible on the hatch history, I take it yes?

    There have been numerous reports of swim activities delaying syncs or being challenging to sync, I've had similar issues.

    Try the following also:

    1. Disconnect (Forget) the watch from BT Settings

    2. Remove GC App from Phone

    3. Long Power button shutdown the watch (Press and Hold power button  until it switches off)

    4. restart phone

    5. Reinstall GC app on phone

    6. Select Pair in Watch settings and pair to Phone and GC again

    Maybe then it will sync the activity properly.

  • Thank you for this!  I uploaded the .fit file into runalyze and was able to convert that to a .gpx file that I was then able to upload into Garmin.  I did have to fix the stats a bit, but it worked.  Thanks again!!!
