Proper way of using "Track Run" for the first time?

I'm going to start my first Track Run tomorrow and I don't want to waste unnecessary time on track. I'm curious what should be the correct way to use "Track Run".

Method A:

  1. Start Track Run activity. (Make sure correct track number is set)
  2. Run 3 laps. (Don't switch track)
  3. Save the activity.
  4. Start another Track Run. (Make sure correct track number is set)
  5. Run as normal. (Don't switch track)

Method B:

  1. Start Track Run activity. (Make sure correct track number is set)
  2. Run as normal but minimum 3 laps. (Don't switch track)
