Calibrate or adjust Daily Suggestions?

Hi all,

Relatively new user. Loving my 955.

I love the Daily Suggestions, particularly because I don't currently have a specific race I'm training for. I'm just trying to improve my fitness and running performance.

I've found that I can relatively easily and consistently out perform the suggestions week over week.

I'm wondering if there's a way to better calibrate the Daily Suggestions? Or prompt it to make the suggestions harder/faster/longer/etc? Or perhaps this is a feature request?

Am I alone in this experience? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Someone suggested trying a chest strap, does anyone know if this would improve the Daily Suggestions?

For the moment, I'm starting to ignore the precise suggestions and instead following the type of run it recommends.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts, comments, or advice!

Jesse

  • Daily Workout Suggestions auto-adjusts with VO2max increase or decrease.

  • Alexander, you are a machine. Thanks much for replying. It sounds like if I just start running what I know I can, then that should eventually reflect in my VO2max, which will then update my Daily Suggestions. Let me know if I'm wrong. Thanks!

  • Rest assured I am 100% human, I did a recaptcha test today:)) My pleasure. Yes, pushing yourself (smartly) to the limits will improve your fitness/ VO2max and LTHR and LT Pace. As your VO2max increases (which is the primary driver for Garmin's / FirstBeat's algorithm), the watch will demand faster paces in Daily Suggested Workouts. People often complain on this forum "I ran 1:20, the watch says 1:30 in my estimates, is this another bug?". No sir, but apparently your effort did not move your VO2 up, it's as simple as that.

  • I don't think Garmin will try to push for challenging workouts. This is related to safety.
