Can WORKOUTS get it's OWN menu item ?

Flicking around to sport types to find workout's is frustrating. I created a custom workout and it files it under HIKING ? this makes no sense.

So like we have Run/Walk/Hiking/Cycle and so on ... it would be good to have one called Workout - which lists ALL the workouts, and then automatically pulls it up wherever Garmin chooses to categorize them.

  • Sorry to bug you with this, where I can suggest it for development.

  • I need to add here too that creating a custom workout is not available on mobile, only online web browser !, and double checked, if I create a "custom workout" it files it under Hiking !! Pff .. lol.

  • Go to the app , go to Training > Workouts > Create Workout

that is where you create workouts in the app

You create it under the type of activity it relates to

On the web you select what type of activity you create a workout under

  • If you create a custom workout on the web portal (connect), if files it under hike, you cannot choose a custom workout and file it under any of your set workouts. And if you use the mobile application, you cannot create a custom workout.

  • I can do it like this … also if I create a workout it sits in this list I have crested  many custom workouts

  • That's doesn't help.  When I need to execute it from my watch.  I dont run around with my phone when training.  My point you cannot assign a custom workout to a workout type.  So when you want to execute it from the watch, you have to try and find it.

Hence I am asking Garmin, to create an option called workouts "on the watch" so they are easier to quick select than being all over the place under various exercise types.

And again, you can only create a custom workout on the web portal, and when I say custom I mean REAL custom, as in an exercise that does not exist.

  • Creating custom workouts end up under hike it walk, I cannot put it under strength. And they end up there without any kind of selection.  So if my custom excercise is a strength excercise, I can't file it under strength training workouts.

  • I think it is a good suggestion to have a list of workouts on the watch. Same goes for routes.

However in this concrete example, why do you make a custom workout and not a strength workout.

If there was a list with workouts as entry point on the watch, that would still not list strength as an option for a custom workout. But all other types of activities, which are not in family with the dedicated workout types listed on creation.

  • I see the point about it sitting under hiking after you sync that is defiantly not logical . your suggestion is good . I will also add a suggestion on that link to support the idea

  • Why is it not logical that is under Hiking. It is not just under hiking, but under a select set of activity profiles, not belonging to the other categories of workouts types.

You must know when create the workout, what kind of activity you have in mind with that workout and select the appropiate workout type.
