Forerunner 955 broken Golilla glass

If you are located withing Europe (EU) then there is a legal 12 month warranty on every purchase you do. Then a 3 month watch cannot be out of warranty, period!!

But Garmin can say that the way you have treated the watch is not covered by a warranty. 

So if I was you I would give it another go with garmin support.

24 months in EU, if I remember correctly

correct , it is 24 months, but they say that the broken glass voids the warranty even if it broke without hits etc which should be a good enough reason for replace it. Garmin should change the name from Gorilla Glass to something else

i find it hard to understand how the glass have broken without any force from outside? unless AND THIS IS BIG UNLESS - u went to sauna and then imiediatelly jumped into cold pool - this could create temperature shock.

Are u able to add picture of the damage?

no, the watch is with Garmin right now, I sent it in for repair thinking it was covered by warranty. All I did was going for a swim in the sea, water was really not cold though. No idea how it could break

Quite hard to believe that the glass can disintegrate by itself.

A photo can give a better understanding.

Nevertheless, I recommend putting on a screen protector. It's very cheap.

Never heard of this happening and never experienced it... So while i understand you're bummed, I also understand that from Garmin side this does not fall under warranty as it's hard to imagine this spontaneously happening.
