Training calendar widget - Scheduled training on D day, still appears on D+1

Hello,

Did anyone else notice this ?

I like daily suggested running workouts but I also often customize my own trainings in GCM. From the menu option, I add them to the calendar (usually on D day, just before to go).

Everything is fine except that on the calendar widget of the FR955 the event is still displayed the next day.

Not a high priority issue, but should be easy to fix.

I noticed this on FW 12.25 and 12.23.

  • Hi, I hadn't noticed this myself so I decided to test it.

I added a workout (one that I had created before) to the calendar for Today (I used the Garmin Connect Web for this) . I then Sync'd the watch (with the IOS app) and looked at the Calendar widget and it appeared in the correct day (Today).

I then deleted it on the Web and did the syncing (via IOS App) and it was removed form Calendar widget

I then tried by adding (a different workout to be safe) to the calendar via the IOS App, sync'd with the watch and again it appeared in the calendar widget correctly.

Just a (silly) thought. Are the time zones on your device and base system the same. Not even sure if they could be offset but was just a thought.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

I just tried to put and delete a training from GCM calendar (easier than from the web) as you explained and I confirm the synchronization/deletion is working fine.

My point is a bit different as I do not delete the training from GCM calendar; there it is assigned to a single day.

On this day the calendar widget from the watch behaves fine.

What does not seem correct is when the widget displays the same training also assigned to the next day.

I don't think it is a timezone issue between the watch and phone.

Screen captures would probably be much more efficient than my explanations, so I will go through the whole process again (it takes a few days) and attach some here.

  • Ok I have created workouts for D , D plus 1 and and D plus 2 to see if it happens my end

  • I  created workouts for D , D plus 1 and and D plus 2 to see if it happens my end . It functions as expected. Yesterday was D and I could see D under 18 Sep  and D plus 1 under 19 Sep on the Calendar Widget yesterday.  Today (19 Sep) I can see the D plus 1 under 19 Sep and D plus 2 under 20 Sep in the Calendar Widget. I do not see anything under the incorrect day or the D reflecting when on the next day.

  • Hi,

Illustration: On Sept 18th, I created a training named "Sept 19 dummy training" and scheduled it for the next day.

Sept 18th widget capture right after synchronization: OK, scheduled tomorrow (Demain in french)

Sept 19th widget capture: OK, scheduled today (Aujourd'*** in french)

Sept 20th widget capture: ??? why is it still there ???

I hope it is more clear now.

Am I missing something or is this a bug ?

  • What happens on the detailed page after the widget (if you press on the widget), what does that display?

Where is the training created ? In The GC App Calendar ?

  • Here is the widget's detailed content:

The training was created in Garmin connect web app and scheduled/transferred to the watch from Garmin Connect mobile (refer to below capture). In GCM calendar, the scheduling seems correct and only appears on Sept 19th.

  • Very strange as per the ones I tried it reflected correctly. Question , did you rename the workout when entering it on the next days or create a new one. I've noticed that if one edits the name it changes it on all the scheduled activities . I assume that is not the case but just a thought.

  • No I did not rename the workout. I created it for this demo and scheduled it only once.

  • Tried everything here and I cannot replicate that behaviour. Hopefully someone from Garmin will pick up on this and have a look at the date. I suppose in the short term just delete the workout from the calendar once you have done the activity.
