Is there Tapering for suggested workouts using race widget?

Hey guys, 

I am using the race widget and have also included map with the goal time as well as elevation features, etc of the course. I have been following the suggested workouts to see how good they are, and this week I am approaching the race and there doesn't seem to be any Tapering... It's basically all the same workouts I been doing on a weekly. 

Anyone experience this or at least know that there is a taper phase when using the race widget for cycling?  

  • I am doing a running race this weekend and the runs it suggests this week seem to be much less than prior so I assume that is what it's doing - tapering. (I am using my own program though so not following it) , Strangely when looking at it now (via Run activity, up button, training, then selecting the race) , it doesn't have the explanation "page" it did earlier in the program (if I recall correctly)

  • My planned race is a marathon in April. There is an overview of the plan available which lists a "reduction phase" two weeks before the race

  • I experience the same.

    There's only tapering in the last week, which is in my opinion too late.

    There's even a 18 km run 8 days before the 10k race. In my opinion you shouldnt do volume work 2-3 weeks before the race. Instead you should focus more on intensity and strength too enhance/ keep race pace 

  • 2-3 weeks taper for a marathon, sure. A week is plenty for a 5 or 10k, unless I'm injured or overtrained.
