Touch gesture with palm

While playing around with my FR 955, I noticed that the palm gesture is actually implemented! I am on FW 11.20.

It is working, when I am in a watch settings menu, or glances list, or glance open, or control menu, or activities list. It does not work when in activity, or in activity settings.

When the palm is placed around the whole display, it returns to the watch face. The gesture needs to be little bit long, short tap won't work.

Is there anyone with an experience with both FR 955 and Fenix 7? Is the behavior same on both watches?

You need to tap the screen with little force. Gentle tap would not work also. Also use the palm, not the fingers (even partly). I am now on 12.27 and it still works.

Make sure that you touch the display with your palm completely.

Still not working. Perhaps the protection foil I have on the display prevents it...

I have the protection foil as well and it works...Maybe your protection is applied in such way, that some parts of the touch screen are not recognized. For normal work it is OK, but for the touch gesture it not.

In my case it was the protection foil. I used one from tempered glas that might have been too thick. After changing to a flexible foil the palm gesture works.

In the Fenix 7 it turn off backlight too. Didn't test the go back to watch face thing. My F7 was stolen now I'm using a 955. Thanks for the info!

On my 955 it returns to watch face and turns off the backlight.

Cool, works great indeed... A pretty quick tap with the hand works fine here as well btw. Feels natural and not as if I have to really thik about it.

Coming from years of button using I do notice that is still my muscle memory so I actively have to think about using the touchscreen (for this, but also when selecting items etc) but getting there ;)

With the new Beta 13.15 the palm gesture now works really perfectly. With 12.27 I had to press my palm quite gard against the screen to activate.
