FR 955 Series: Graphical corruption - dashed horizontal line across watch face

Topic migrated from forum beta 12.2 - https://forums.garmin.com/beta-program/forerunner-955-series/public-beta-bug-reports/i/bug-reports---beta-12-20/graphical-corruption---dashed-horizontal-line-across-watch-face

Installed version 12.23.

Today, 30.08.22 I did a workout and again a black line appeared on the screen. And today she appeared several times in different places.
I managed to take a screenshot. It is not visible on the screenshot - only in the photo. Updating the screen with the forward / backward buttons removes it.

  • I got the same issue last night when I was on my way home by bike. At first, I thought the screen was broken =))

  • Have a 955 on the way and wanted to peek in here.  Currently have the 945LTE same issue on it for the better part of a year and 4 firmware's.

  • what ? for a year and not fixed ?

There wasn't such distortion on the 11.12 for 955. Why is it hard to look at the code and identify the potential root cause ?

  • yeah, showed up in fw4.07  - 11/2021.  See it on some swims, mostly runs at least bi-weekly.
They just fixed swim workouts that were unusable if you had any repeats in it, broke since 11/2021, fixed in the latest beta released 2 weeks ago.

  • Truly disappointing.

If this issue is not fixed on my 955, I promise I am going to migrate to Apple or Pixel watch next.

  • here for first time in forever (i usually only saw a thin dashed line, and i hadn't seen it in a couple of months). i upgraded to 12.27beta the other day and now i saw it 4 times during a 70minute run this morning (may have been more but i saw it that many times when i looked at my watch).

  • The FW 11.12 does not have the distortion. I am very certain about it.

After accidentally updating to 12.23, I am starting to see it.

So this bug should be easily identified by looking at the changes to the codes instead of going through tons of data from Yes, Yes, Yes users.

  • Exactly.

Garmin should give the staff a free watch so they can use it themselves. Every bug that we are mentioning is easy to identify if they all had a watch in use.

  • I had posted the error that occurred during an activity some time ago.  Yesterday, I saw the same line through the time on my watch display when it was just in regular watch mode.  I was just looking to check the time.  It had the line.  I could not get an image of that occurring.  I would post an image of what the watch face normally looks like on my display, but there image insert for Garmin changed and I cannot figure it out.

  • YEs I found the only way to insert an image is to make it a .jpeg and then drag from desktop to this block.

Seems to work OK on Safari on iPhone to add , but not on the web for some reason...
