Bluetooth music hangs

I use my 955 to listen to podcasts during my runs. It happened several times and I can't reproduce the problem. Can take 10 minutes or 50 minutes, or even won't happen. But many times the bluetooth connection hangs. Music stops.Everything remains as if the music was playing, I can pause, play, nothng happens.

Disconnect the phones, connect the phones. Nothing. My phones become unresponsive. As if the BT stack has hanged. I can't even disconnect the phones (long press on one of them doesn't work)  I have used these same phones for years with my 945 without any issues.

I think only once the music returned out of nothing.

This is a rather strange issue, Don't know how to get info on this. Nobody has ever experienced any issue like this ? I was considering filing a bug report

  • Hello, I have a similar issue with the FR955 solar  V12.23. When I start a predefined suggested garmin training and connect my bose sport earbuds the first 5 to 10 min I can hear music playing. After a while the sound suddenly stops, although the earbuds stay connected. I tried to disconect and reconnect. Sound plays for some minutes and then stops again. It also seems that there is sometimes a little interruption if music works, followed by a very short "cracking" noise. On the FR 945 I never had any issues.

I also did a run without preconfigured training and the music played the whole training session. There was only sometimes this short interruption noise.

  • There's defnitly some problem with BT music streaming. I also noticed that when the music/prompts hang and I don't do nothing, next time I connect the phones to have another run, and the connection resumes, then I get all the previous prompts that have been stuck, at once: Lap 6, Lap 7, Lap 8... LOL

As if the streaming of these audio prompts, from the last run, were in a pipleline stuck and all of the sudden could be delivered.

Lately I discovered that the audio resumes If I remove and re-add the phones. But it's a stupid solution.

I whish Garmin could look into this problem. It's not easy, especially because I can't state the exact conditions to reproduce it. If anybody can reproduce this...

  • I got my watch today and had exactly the same issue while running. One podcast of ~60 min ran through fine. A next one started, but stopped playing 10 minutes in. I was not able to get it to work anymore, without disconnecting and reconnecting the earbuds. This is extreme frustrating to do while running

  • THis happened to me too.  I did NOT have my phone on me while running.  I used a course that I was following.  I was using spotify and it the audio would go silent on my airpod pros.  Then I would disconnect/connect and it would work again for a while.   Haven't had this happen before.  you're free to contact me.  [email protected]

  • Hi all,

Having the same issue since I updated to the last version of the software (12.23 I believe). In my specific case, I have to star playing music 5-10 minutes before start running - it's like the watch loads the sound and then it plays it but with constant drops
