why is there no device settings page on Garmin Connect for F955?

I have the F245 also and it is much easier to VIEW and ALTER the user settings, general settings ,activity, eg. heart rate zones and view the corresponding bpm, on a computer screen.

even with that said, the LAYOUT for the heart rate zones and whether you want to set them by %max, Hrr or LTHR (models that have this EG. F735XT) is much more user friendly on the mobile APP with the F245 and previous forerunner models. YOU can actually SEE the numbers!

can we have the same layout as the previous models on the app or at least have a device settings page on Garmin Connect?

  • Are you not referring to the settings which are available on the GC App:  Press on the FR logo at the top of the app.(Or select the device from the ... more at the bottom right). Then under USER PROFILE there are a number of settings incl the Heart Rate and Power settings. Is that what you were looking for?

  • No. That is my complaint. On the computer for example if you click on Fr245 device settings you will get a whole page on the computer with options for sounds and alerts, activity tracking, user settings, general.

You can click on any one of these and then alter parameters.

Clicking on the user settings option brings up a much better format for altering your personal stats and heart rate zones, with percentage and BPM side by side.

    You can view

Secondary  running  cycling  swimming  side by side all at once. pkus you can actually SEE the numbers. as I find the mobile numbers very small and hard to see unless you actually want to alter them.

When on the computer you click on the watch face (top right) then click on the Fr955 device settings the page opens up shows you details of your watch

i.e software is up to date

    last time synced

     serial no.

    prefered tracker

    then the connect app icon

and underneath it says to use the connect app to manage your device settings.

When I find the above method for the FR245 and all the other FR watches that I have had previously used that format. It's just so much more user friendly.

Hope that helps to explain what I mean. As I am thankful for your reply.Thumbsup

  • Ah ok, understood. Yes having such an option would be useful. I did. a suggestion to Garmin also that we could configure the activity settings on the computer (not just the app) for the same reasons you mention.

  • Thanks for the feedback Thumbsup

I just don't understand why it's completely changed,

Because you get the same layout on the app as the computer page for the Fr245 user settings

i.e. Table form for all, with percentage and BPM  side by side.

But with the FR955 on the app you only get the choice of viewing one sport and then only able to alter percentage.

It's much easier to use and SEE the table format .Plus you can also swipe to the next table while on the same screen .you dont have to go back out and pick another sport.

  • And why no Max heart rate field in activity...in bpm.

  • Plus! Plus!

(Can you guess that this bugs me? Having spent so much on a supposedly top notch watch)

You have to have the watch connected to the phone to alter it with the app.( This is a pain in its own right, but especially so with the Bluetooth connection issues I am still getting)

You don't have to with the F245 , you can just go right ahead and open the app click user settings and  alter it any time you like .

Older version watch ,much better layout.

Have to say I am disappointed with my recent purchase.
