Sleep algorithm registering naps now ? Change to sleep algorithm despite no update of FW ?

I had a 3 hours nap on Tuesday from 3  to 6 pm.

I slept again on Tuesday night.

GC registered my sleep for the afternoon one. Not the night one.

My user setting sleep time is set at night.

Anyone facing similar issue?

  • Very disappointed with 955.

I don't have this sleep issue on my 945 and on the first few days of 955.

No update on FW and on the 11.12 since purchase of 955.

My 955 has been registering naps instead of the actual setting for sleep time.

  • I have the same problem. Sleep tracking is totally broken. The watch often registers sleep time in the middle of the day when I'm watching TV or playing on the console. And overwrites sleep data recorded during the night.

  • Long awake time and outside of sleep window.

The sleep algorithm is definitely broken.

  • It is not possible, that in a system, where everything is connected, is everything determines your training and your recovery, you can not calculate, naps during the day, and that the calculation of sleep is wrong in this way. If the calculation of sleep will be wrong, the day after all the statistics will be wrong! And this system, which works for that, and so, who needs it if it’s not reliable?

  • I had no issue with sleep recording on my 935 over the three years of use, yet this 955, which has more metrics dependent on the sleep data is really poor. Sometimes I can get rid of the false data, but since the recent update I have not been able to correct the data, so twice this week my sleep score on the device has dropped to 0.

  • Still driving me crazy on a weekly basis. I have the 955 and losing last nights sleep data because I meditate for an hour in the afternoon should not wipe out last nights data. Going to set up an activity for naps and meditation till they fix this crap.

  • That's an interesting idea, please post how that works out.  Personally, I now just remove the watch if I know I'm going to take a nap.

  • Not sure why Garmin is not following the user configured sleep hours.

That configuration is just redundant if Garmin is trying to auto detect.

  • Happened to me on two consecutive days as well. recorded afternoon sleep in Connect and the night's sleep on the clock

  • It keeps logging afternoon naps and when this happens it doesn't log nighttime sleep. The readiness of the training is distorted. Don't see your stress history when Record afternoon naps. I have contacted Garmin but it gives me the usual answers of ...Master Reset
