- is there a way to disable the native power & just be using Stryd power?
I'm reviving this old thread. Can we please be allowed to turn off native power altogether? Right now, it's on an activity by activity basis and it's ignored for Connect IQ apps.
I'm using…
For those All "Following" people. Just use the Forum features.
I have done this for everything that is a native Garmin app. You cannot do this for a Connect IQ app.
I use the Stryd Workout app for a power based training program. When using the Stryd Workout app, both…
Struggling with the same issue now for a loong time. Doesn't seem like the garmin developers understand our frustration... To me it seems like Stryd also is giving up on them and shifting their focus to Apple Watch. This is where all new features are fist introduced nowadays, while we garmin users are left in the dark... If it weren't for 15 years of activities stored in the garmin ecosystem I have already considered a change to Apple watch. Hope garmin still wants us as customers...and do this minor bug fix...
May I have permission to reach out to one of you via email? I'd like to collect some more details so I can create a report. I can't promise that anything can be changed, but I can at least see if this type of change can be added to a CIQ app setting or not.
Can we get it where the running power reporting on the watch when switched to “accessory” allows the power to come from 3rd party sensors (i.e. Stryd)? For now it seems as though it is locked to only allowing Garmin accessories to report running power to the watch when not using a CIQ app or data field dedicated to reading the 3rd party sensor. Garmin allows heart rate to come from 3rd party sensors……..why not running power?
To use Stryd power, go to Activities/Running/Running Settings/ then scroll down to "Running Power", change the source "smart mode" to accessory only , that will change to Stryd. I have tested in Smart mode, it records Garmin native power and not Stryd Power, but it does show Stryd graph and analysis on Garmin Connect apps (with Stryd data apps installed). Hope it helps answering your question
Garmin-Sierra you can contact me.
rwiesman that would be the ideal scenario, but I think not asking for too much at a time is critical here. Baby steps.
slugwalker this only works in native Garmin apps, not Connect IQ apps.
