FR955 reroute when off course?

Hi,

I did a lot of research before deciding to buy my FR955 and I remember watching or reading a review where it was specifically pointed out that the FR955 (and also the Fenix 7 and Epix 2) would reroute you back to the course if you take a wrong turn and get off course (sorry, I can't remember which review it was and I can't seem to find it anymore or I would have asked the person who did the review first).

I've had my FR955 for a week now and no matter what I do, it won't reroute me once I'm off course (I use preplanned courses which I upload to the watch and start with an activity. There doesn't seem to be a difference wether I use the "Navigation" or any other available activity). It recognizes immediately that I am off course and the respective message appears on the screen, but no matter how long I walk in the wrong direction, it won't give me any navigation directions to get back on the course - even if there are several opportunities (i.e. have me turn around immediately or tell me to turn left or right or whatever).

So, is this really something the watch should be able to do and, if so, how do I get it to actually reroute me? Is it a bug, that it doesn't work properly, or did I maybe misunderstand something or mix up reviews somehow and it just "works as designed"? Do the Fenix 7 and Epix 2 actually have this function and does it work properly with these watches?? As I'm still in my return period, and the navigation during activities is one of the main reasons for which I got the watch, I might actually consider returning the FR955 and getting one of the other 2 instead if I can't get it to work with the FR955 and one of the other's actually works this way.

Hope somebody can shed some light here Slight smile
