Garmin 955 - Double click buttons? (like a camera button)

I've just got a Garmin 955, bought direct from Garmin Australia. it appears to be revision A.

The buttons on the right hand side are fine, the feel like they should, but the ones on the left have a two stage click, almost like a camera shutter button how it has the AF lock stage, and the take a photo stage.  and the back button makes a metallic noise when pressed to the 1st click stage.

I've come from a 935, and the buttons didn't feel anything like this, they all felt firm and very tactile, and didn't have this weird two stage click.

is this a warrantyable thing?

  • I have a Fenix 6 and one of the 5 buttons act like that. Not sure if i had t he at since to he we beginning 15 months ago. The tech guy told me to hey will all do that at one point. This was a bunch of bull. I think the button is defective. But it works. It's only one and i did not want an exchange as the watch works great. If you just got it, i would ask for an exchange if it bothers you. You can search t he we Fenix 6 forums. I think it had similar posts.

My 955 has the same. I also had an epic gen 2 before this and it also had the same.

    My 955 is revision B.

  • wow- just curious, what made you switch from an Epic2 to a 955?  weight?

  • No, it is normal. Mine has it too and so does my 245. I actually prefer it over my Epix 2, which doesn't have it, but are much harder to press.

yeah weight - but I didn't like the buttons either so I've returned the 955 also.

I've gone with an Apple Watch for now... and I'll revisit Garmin in a year or two to see if the buttons feel better.

I actually had two Epix 2 - the first one had it on one of the buttons and the replacement had it on all of them.  Arrggh haha.
