Forerunner 955 showmissed notifications during activity

Long time Garmin user, recently purchased FR 955 Solar and there's a thing that's been bothering me for years including all previous models I had: How do I access/display/show a notification that I received during an activity after I "miss" the initial pop-up? E.g. I'm on a bike, get a notification, can't press the down arrow to show it at that moment, I stop after say 30s, pop-up is gone, but I can't bring it back. There's no data field for that, no shortcut from the carousel, no hotkey, no way go go to the notification widget... am I missing something that everyone has already figured out or is this by desing? Any help/guide/trick is appreciated, thanks.

    You can pause the activity, then press the resume later option and then scroll through your glances until you find notifications. After you have viewed your notification just press the start button when you are on the watch face and then resume activity. Hope this helps

    But can you view your notification when pressing the down button when the pop-up appears? On my FR955 this does not work I think it is a bug or something. Whatever I press or do I am only able to see the pop-up...am I missing something?

    Thanks for the tip with pausing the activity, that is a possible workaround. However, what if I don't want to pause the activity and still read the notifications?

    I can view the notification by pressing the down button (short press) when the pop-up appears, this is fine for me, I have latest version 11.12. Not sure why yours isn't working.

    There is another workaround but it will disable gps until you get back to the activity. On the activity long press the up button scroll through the setting till you find appearance then go to watch faces and reapply your current one. This will get you to the watch face.

    You can assign a hot key to "Watch face", so you can get to watch face quickly with just 1 long press of certain hot key. The GPS still gets disabled during the time of not being inside the activity.

    Ty, so much for this! It's too bad gps gets disabled, but I'll live with it.
