Accuracy of instant pace on FR 955

Hello,

can someone give some information about the instant pace of the FR955?

With my Fenix 6x Pro it is very poor and the pace jumps up and down when I run at a consistently pace. It's really annoying while doing intervals...

It's better than the Sony chipset Garmin's, but I don't have anything to quantify it.

I think it's pretty dang good actually, but...

1. Instant is not INSTANT, it seems to use about a 5 second buffer...

2. I shows pace in 5s increments (so jumps from 4:50 to 4:55 to 5:00, etc)

But with these remarks, it's stable. When I run what I feel is a stable pace it differs at most 5 seconds... It does take about 5 seconds to really update to current pace (from skow to interval speed for example) but that's ok with me.

Pace graphs on garmin also look good.

This is an interval run I did yesterday:

So I'd say, massive improvement (both due to implementation but also multimode which I feel really must be enabled for the most accurate pace/measurements)

For normal running and all gps only or gps-all systems would be perfectly fine, but if you really want precise pace and tracking enable multimode.

Just had my first run at the track. The current pace is good.

I guess it all depends on your GPS ?
