Open Water swimming logging as Move IQ activity

I've done two O/W swims this week with my 955. The first one transferred correctly to Connect as an O/W swim with full stats whereas this morning's activity synched as a MoveIQ event despite being recorded as an O/W activity in the watch. I can see all stats on the 955. Two questions:

a) How do I get the full stats transferred to Connect?

b) How do I prevent this from happening again? Need I disable MoveIQ in general, which I would rather not do, or is there another way?

The same has happened yesterday with my pool activity (955). I thought it's a 14.17 firmware issue, but obviously it is some older problem. Did anyone manage to sync the activity properly to Connect?

Here's a suggested workaround:

Download .FIT file from your watch (it should be there, in GARMIN/Activity folder).
Use www.fitfiletools.com tool named Corrupt Time Fixer. This should fix the file.
You may want to upload the file to www.swimmingwatchtools.com and verify if stroke, etc. is correct and edit as desired.
Upload updated .FIT to Garmin Connect
