Possible bug with showing notifications when privacy setting "gesture"

I have had my Forerunner 955 solar for a few days now, previously I had the Forerunner 945. I chose the same settings as the 945 when it comes to displaying incoming app notifications: privacy --> gesture.

However, no matter how much I move my arm or tilt my wrist, the message/notification is not displayed.

To rule out a hardware failure, I then set the backlight to "on with gesture", which is more normally set to "off". And voila - the backlight is activated with every movement of the arm or wrist just as expected. And even more interesting: When the backlight is set like this, the messages also appear when I move the arm or wrist.

Can you reproduce this error? I suspect it's a software bug, at least on my 945 it was possible to always leave the backlight off and still have messages appear when privacy was set to gesture.

    Please see our recently released beta software for a fix addressing this report. If you prefer to not install this beta software, we hope to be rolling out a public software update soon, though I do not have a timeline for this release.     Ok I got an update and now notifications and backlight work fine but incoming call notifications don't work as well as emojis in messages.

    And one more suggestion from me for improvement, the ability to display the message faster by pressing the START button, simply bypassing the screen with the message sender so as to display the content of the message faster. As far as I remember, it was like that in Fenix 6, 7.

    And I have one more request, add an option in the privacy settings gestures + START button.

    We have released a fix in the latest production (non-beta) software release that should resolve the report for most users experiencing these symptoms.  The software release should continue rolling out to all users in the coming days.  If you are still experiencing symptoms like the original report here, please start a new thread.
