I've been using Stryd wind pod for power since 2019 and am evaluating whether I want to jump to just using the Garmin Running Dynamics pod so I can utilize the native running power capabilities of my new FR955 Solar instead of having to rely on 3rd party CIQ data fields or apps. One thing that has me second guessing making this change is I don't know how the weight data in GC affects Garmin's formula for calculating the reported power from the RD pod? I've also followed the suggestion by many highly respected running power gurus to NOT change the weight setting in the Stryd atmosphere as it will affect the watts being reported and almost impossible to make comparisons to training progress and calculate a true running power FTP to establish power targets for a race. I consistently weight myself once per week (Tuesday mornings) and log that weight in GC to track weight loss/gain progress, which I'm also assuming must affect calculated calories burned during an activity? Will weekly logging weight changes in GC have the same affect on Garmin's running power reporting as with Stryd and make it impossible to compare runs/race performances apples-to-apples? If so, maybe Garmin needs to create a "locked weight" that a person can set in the running power aspect?
