Why are 3rd party running powermeters not supported for native running power (Stryd).

I don't believe that we will see Garmin open it up to 3rd party power meters until there is a standard. Also, I believe that the difference is that 3rd party sensors calculate power and sends the value to the watch and Garmin is calculating power with the watch from the sensor data.

Is Stryd interested in native running power? They will have problems selling their subscription plan.

the problem is for those who already have Stryd and want to use the new Forerunners. for those who do not have Stryd the problem does not exist because the power through Pod or hrm is perfect.I think Stryd will disappear from the market in a few years

I have a Stryd and I stopped using it. Not because of this but because of the nonsense "don't change your weight, Stryd doesn't work if you change your weight" and then "it does work if you change your weight, and you can, but don't"

Stryd chose not to get on board with Garmin and I understand why. If they did it would become clear they are unnecessary and additionally, and must importantly, people would review their data in Garmin connect and not the flawed power centre(see weight comments above) and the subscription model they want is dead.

I have been using stryd for years and it is very useful for me to do power training.
I have always used Garmin until this year when I tried coros for this reason. Being able to create a workout manually on the phone based on power and have it work natively with stryd is a joy.
It's also a wonder that the watch calculates power on its own with similar accuracy to stryd on asphalt.
Using Garmin tools the power is not as accurate as with stryd, since the slope, humidity, wind, etc does not measure it in a real way (weather forecast) or (accelerometer vs gps).
Therefore, power with Garmin should be less accurate and therefore less useful to train and use.

It is absolutely not true what you say, the calculated power of the 955 is perfectly usable for training based on power. You cannot compare Stryd values with Garmin values because they use different methods. You have to recalculate your rFTPw with garmin and you will see that there will be no difference in the workouts
