Forerunner 955 not recognizing AirPods

I've successfully connected my AirPod earphones to my watch for previous runs, but today, when I try to connect, I just get a black screen on the watch that says "Sensors Found" with a line below it, but there's no option to select anything and it's just a dead screen. I've restarted the watch several times and ensured the earphones weren't connected to anything else. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any idea what it means when the watch says "Sensors Found" but nothing else shows on the screen?

If anyone is wondering, here's the resolution: The name of the airpods were changed since they were first paired with the watch, so it didn't recognize it. I needed to remove the "old" paired headphones, and re-pair them with the newly named headphones.
