HRV very low and native power issues

Morning,

So my HRV score for the last week has been very low, 35 average every night. I'm 34 with a vo2 of 60 and I feel like I'm sleeping well.

Anyone else experiencing low HRV scores?

Also, tried native power out with the HR Pro strap rather than my stryd pod and it's waaaaaay too high. I went for a recovery run on flat ground @ 10 minute mile pace and it averaged 380w, that would normally be 210w for me with stryd and the Garmin connect app thinks I'm doing threshold intervals, any idea if I can calibrate it?Joy

Cheers

  • True, if the watch can measure consistent values, then all this change in 2 months is on me, and I guess I'm the problem.

It seems like higher values are generally "better", but I feel like I'm absolutely fitter and healthier in the past 2 months. I did have some bad sleep schedule, but I doubt that can knock my HRV to such low values for that long.

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I'm 18 years old. I don't really know what's going on (with me), I'd just expect the watch to adapt faster because my case can't be *that* special, is it?

  • Do you eat late? Do you eat sweets late? I actually have worse outcomes from eating heavy meals too late, eating gluten, eating a lot of sweets, then having a couple beers with a healthy well portioned meal 3-4 hours before bed.

  • my VO2max is 64 and run 5k under 18 mins but my HRV never goes above 48 and goes as low as 36 .. even 32 during night
